Grass Verge Cutting

As the local highway authority, highway verges are the responsibility of Warwickshire County Council . Grass verge cutting is carried out primarily to ensure that vegetation does not restrict visibility for users of the public highway.

Warwickshire County Council carries out mowing to maintain visibility by cutting an area one metre wide (plus additional areas at junctions and on bends) three times a year on highway verges outside of towns and villages.

Stratford-on-Avon District Council is funded by Warwickshire County Council to carry out grass verge cutting on its behalf within towns and villages. Their Grounds Management contractor, idverde , carries out this service.
